研究工作: 

  研究领域主要涉及特殊恒星及相关天体,特别是Ia型超新星前身星的研究。Ia型超新星是宇宙学距离指示器,通过Ia型超新星测距,波尔马特等人发现了宇宙在加速膨胀,从而推论出暗能量的存在。暗能量的发现不仅是天文学,更是物理学的巨大突破(波尔马特等人由此获得了2011年度诺贝尔物理学奖)。然而,人们并不清楚Ia型超新星的前身星是什么,这将直接影响Ia型超新星的测距精度并阻碍精确宇宙学的发展。在Ia型超新星前身星及其相关天体方面开展了一系列,提出了Ia型超新星的氦双星前身星模型,成功地揭示了年轻Ia型超新星如何形成的难题,受到英、美、德、俄、葡等30多个国家70余家国外媒体(如BBC,Science Daily)的报道,并被《Nature》杂志主办的《Nature China》作为研究亮点进行报道。氦双星模型现已被国际著名的研究超新星爆炸模型的小组用于研究超新星爆炸对残留伴星的影响
