Abstract: |
The atmospheres of extrasolar planets can be studied by transmission spectroscopy. The host star acts as a light source. During the transit of an exoplanet its atmosphere will imprint its spectral features on the stellar spectrum.
However, this approach is systematically limited by stellar, instrumental and telluric contributions. In my presentation I will outline these systematic limitations and present results for different extrasolar planetary systems.
